Hi there! I'm Catherine Bouris, and I'm 25 years old and from Sydney, Australia. I received my Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and History from the University of Sydney in 2015, and I received my Master of Publishing there in 2018.
As a freelance writer, I have written for the Saturday Paper, Sydney Morning Herald, Overland Literary Journal, GOAT, Junkee, AWOL, Everyday Feminism, Honi Soit, Daily Life, PopSugar, Archer Magazine, and the Star Observer.
I created the Young Australian Writers Facebook group, a place for those new to the Australian media and publishing industries to network, seek advice and feedback, and learn about new employment and writing opportunities. For my employment and education history, check out my LinkedIn.
In May 2018, I was elected as a delegate to MEAA’s Federal Council, a position I will hold for two years.
I have been interviewed on ABC Radio National, FBi Radio, the Friend of Marilyn podcast, and for Honi Soit, Mumbrella, The Cusp, Rachel’s List and The Regal Fox, and featured in a list of 15 women doing amazing things on Pedestrian.TV. I appeared at the Emerging Writers' Festival as an artist in June 2017, and at the National Young Writers' Festival as an artist in September 2017.
